Happy weekend- wahoo! Things are fine here in Daly City, we're getting sunshine at the moment, nice mellow breeze. Chemo (Gemzar) was fine on wed. We're going to repeat the pet-ct in about 10 days to see if we're getting anywhere with the new protocol. We decided to leave the meningioma in my noggin alone.

Hi guys! Just got carboplatin-Gemzar #2. Human medicine scares the crap out of me. Last cycle my platelets got so low (grade 4 toxicity) I needed a plt transfusion. He said no dose reduction for cycle #2. This is crazy- please wish me luck (and no spontaneous hemorrhage) :) the plan is to repeat PET-CT in 3 weeks... Hopefully we can beat these damn metastatic nodes into submission.

Hey everybody! Just hot back from an overnight trip up to Sebastopol. Planted a new redwood tree and scattered a bunch of poppy seeds. Have chemo on wed, so we're trying to enjoy ourselves to the max! We're also trying to coordinate a trip to Amsterdam for April :)
Summer and the kitties (aka the Meople) are doing great.

Yikes! Sorry I dropped off the planet for a sec. I got an elephant sized dose of carboplatin last week, wow. I feel a little bit like jello (or Gumby...?!), what a trip. Thank you to all of my awesome friends who've been helping me out with everything. Including my acupuncturist, who cooked a mineral broth for me!!

Hey guys! Thanks to everyone who swung by the house on sat- I had an absolute blast with you!

Just got 1st dose of a new chemo protocol today (carboplatin + Gemzar + avastin + zometa). The PET scan from last week showed cancer progressing inside my chest. At least this chemo doesn't cause the same crazy neuropathy as the taxanes... Will just beef up on anti-nausea meds.

Have a brain and neck MRI sched for fri, results next week.

Hope my sister doesn't mind my posting this freaking awesome pic... Heehee!

Hey friends!! Just got back from the Pacific orchid expo opening night gala at fort mason. They had some truly gorgeous orchids, and a couple varieties that I've never seen. They had some tasty cheese and wine sponsors. For the first time ever, I did not buy any orchids- what a relief!!

Had a pet-ct scan this afternoon... results next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
